Photoshop printer driver clips images

In Photoshop 5.5, I keep getting an error message when I press the Print button.
It says, "The image is larger than the paper's printable area. Some
clipping will occur."
The image at the leading edge of the print is always clipped
one-sixteenth of an inch vertically.
How can I prevent this clipping and the error message?
The canvas size matches the size in the Page Setup > Custom options.

Re: Photoshop printer driver clips images

First Photoshop doesn't have a printer drive. Your using the one that you
installed when you connected your printer or whoever set your printer up.
The message you are getting is because the image you are trying to print is
larger than the paper you have chosen in the printer driver. This isn't an
odd thing. If for example you have a large format printer and you have your
image set to print at say 11x14-inches you would get this message because
the printer driver defaults to a page 8-1/2 x 11-inches in size. All you
have to do is change the paper size in your printer driver and you will take
care of the problem.
If your print is being cut off it is because you are not doing this. If your
printer will not print at the size you have your image set at then you need
to resize (turn off resampling when you) your image to the size paper it
will handle.

Re: Photoshop printer driver clips images

In article <44C3F7FB.2E5FFD31@email-address-to-deter-junk-mail.com>,
Your printer can not print all the way to the margin. Any image you
print will be clipped because of that.
Photoshop asks the printer driver what the actual printable area of the
page, which is the size of the page minus your printer's margin, is. If
your image is bigger than that, Photoshop gives you the warning.
It is your printer, not Photoshop, that is clipping the image.

Hi.
Obvious question, and don't get offended if it is not the case, BUT are you
allowing for the margin/s required by the printer. The Printable area is
usually smaller than the Paper size being used.
Have you clicked on the little horizontal arrow / triangle down at bottom
left of the task bar to see the outline of the print superimposed on the
paper. I can't remember if 5.5 had Print with preview, if it does you will
get a much clearer view of this.
