Changing Shiny Object to solid colour

Hi there
I have a picture of a silver (fairly shiny) galvanized dust bin/trash
can. How can I realistically change the colour to, say, a solid red?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

PS. When using the "Fuzziness" slider to select the area of the image you
want to change,
if you find you have to select more than you want (parts of the image other
than the dustbin) don't worry as you can undo those extra bits after
applying the new colour, by using the "History Brush".

...
Try, Image / Adjustments / Replace Colour. When the window appears, use the
Eyedropper tool to select your colour to be changed, then use a combination
of the "Replacement" sliders to achieve the colour you want, and the
"Fuzziness" slider to select more or less of the image. You'll get the idea
after a short play :-)
