Panaramic pictures

Also one other thing, this probably is a stupid question, but do all
SLR cameras do panaramic shots, as long as you have the required film.
Or is it an additional function like the digital cameras

Re: panaramic pictures

Yes, I'd say the site is worth a visit, but I agree with Bandicoot,
that guy needs to get his gamma right - there are hardly any images
there with anything approaching a decent black.. Maybe it's an
artistic choice, but it leaves many images looking washed out and odd,
with *too much* shadow detail. Strangely, the one image I saw that
*did* have blacks - a cactus sunset - could have used a little *more*
detail in the silhouette.. (O:

Re: panaramic pictures

Depending on the lens and the way the
camera is held, portrait or landscape,
will depend on the final image.
This link, http://tinyurl.com/g542a
will lead you to a site that has
some of the most wonderful
panoramics I've seen in a long time.
They are seperate images that are
brought into photoshop. Stiched,
corrected for balance and perspective.
Granted they are not on one piece of
film or one digital capture, But the
result is quite fantastic.

additional function available on some cameras.

Re: panaramic pictures

Or alternatively, just capture a standard frame with a wide angle lens,
and crop the resulting image. This is what the dedicated panorama
disposable cameras, and the APS panorama cameras do.

Re: panaramic pictures

There are dedicated film cameras that take panoramic shots.
Hasselblad X-Pan is one example.
Lacking that -- ie., using a "normal" SLR -- you can scan the
film, and then stitch together scanned frames just as you would
with digital captures.

In article <1153054016.153763.114630@p79g2000cwp.googlegroups.com>,
Film panoramic photography requires bodies that are either dedicated to
panoramic photography or bodies that are dual-function with the ability
to switch between panoramic and full-frame mode. The only dual-function
camera that I recall is the Hasselbad Xpan which I believe is no longer
being manufactured.
This link to a large online camera store will give you an overview of
some products available:
