Opening pcd files in photoshop 7

I,m having problems opening pcd files that I Downloaded from a.b. multimedia utilities in photoshop 7, Ive tried reinstalling photo shop but no help, I noticed a dialogue box in the install regarding file associations where pcd files are in the nc column, should this be checked to the photoshop column. Any help would be appreciated.

right click the file (any pcd file)
instead of "open with"
choose "choose program"
select PS from the list (it should be near the top as one of the
suggestions)
before you close the box tick the box that says "always use this program"
you can change any file association this way..
helpful when programs like Real Player and iTunes try changing them on
install.....

No, it won't make any difference.
If you have PS open, and use File > Open, it will still open any file type,
even if that file type is not associated.
I have all Tiffs associated with my Fax Program, and Jpegs with one of the
Windows viewers, but I can still Open, Work on and Save those file types in
PS.
