Had a little more fun in the hot sun today during lunchtime.
Caught these guys posing and hiding:

Re: DRAGONFLIES LOVE THE 20D !

He got lazy Dallas... Either that or the blur tool in Photoshop stopped
working!
Didn't you know Dallas? All 20D /30D cameras produce noise in the area
of the image under exposed? True. 5d's don't but 20D/30D sure does...
Even at 100 ISO, too!

Re: DRAGONFLIES LOVE THE 20D !

I see quite a bit of color noise in that 100% crop.
Maybe it's time to hit the optical warehouse?
;)
It's not a big deal, and likely wouldn't be very significant in a
print...but it's definitely there.

There are some interesting comparisons between 1dsmkII images and 4x5 film
here:

Also some great images of the Grand Canyon taken with this digital
camera......

May be, but it just doesn't seem to have the smoothness that the rest of
the pics usually have.

Re: DRAGONFLIES LOVE THE 20D !

I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Here is an actual size crop from
the original with no sharpening, noise reduction, or post-processing
applied.

So whatever you are seeing must have come from me in Post rather than
from the sensor of the 20D.

Your eyes must be better than mine.

Re: DRAGONFLIES LOVE THE 20D !

Yes, I almost always crop my pics (which is one reason I lust after a
1DsMKII). Sorry if they won't fit perfectly into your frames.
Tell me what size you need and I'll send you a different version. Maybe
you can sell em at your booth this weekend?

The one from yesterday is much better than these. I am quite surprised
to see that the picture of the grasshopper has a substantial amount of
noise in the shadows for ISO 400. What's up with that?

Re: DRAGONFLIES LOVE THE 20D !

How come these are a different aspect ratio to your 20D's sensor?
Did you make monster crops?
