Attach Camera to Night vision Goggles?

Now, lets ignore the subject of the image. I ma just curious, can you
just attach a film camera to a pair of decent night vision goggles and
get an image like that?
The second one clearly would've been enhanced, so is that first one
consistent with using those sorts of goggles on film?
I'd've thought that you'd never get enough light to make any kind of
image, short of a super high speed film, mounting on a tripod, having a
realllly slow shutter speed, etc, and that that wouldn't jive with the
story.
Anyone tried to use these kinds of techniques?

Thanks to the two of you!
I am impressed, I'd've really thought that the light comming out of the
night vision goggles was just too dim and weak to react well enough
with film. Thanks.

Actually the second one looks like it could have been shot through a
starlight scope or something ... other than the little guy to the left.
I expect both images on that site are crap.
I've shot a P&S digital through a pair of AN/PVS-7Ds.
This isn't my image, but it's realistic of what what real NVG images
looks like:

Re: Attach Camera to Night vision Goggles?

Hi there,
I have taken pictures with image intensifiers, such as those used in
night-vision goggles. The amount of light is amplified electronically,
typically by a factor of 100,000 or more, so shutter speed is not an
issue. The lens system focusses an image onto the intensifier, which
amplifies the light onto a phosphor screen (hence the monotone green
image). Then some sort of relay lens allows you to focus the image of
the screen onto the film plane of the camera.
Hope that helps,
Mark
