Re: help with Minolta X-700 problem In some of the minolta x-series when the battery dies in mid cycle, this will happen. I would try to gently spring the shutter, meaning you take the lens off the camera, open the back of the camera, then you put on cotton gloves like the ones worn when loading sheet film. With your left hand thumb you gently raise the mirror (without touching the mirror surface and then with both thumbs you gently grip the shutter curtain, pull it back slightly and then let go. If it works, you have a useable camera, if not then you didn't lose anything. David Chorleydnc@hotmail.com
