ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

Well sports fans, I'm about to go on a one week hiatus (vacation) in
South Carolina so I don't know if I'll be posting much from there.
Like this guy, I'm gonna just rest a little bit:

Oh, I might take a few pics as well, assuming there is something there
to photograph (I'll be on Edisto Island). At the very least it should
allow me to get something for the current
Shoot-In mandate, "Weather."
Anyway, look for some sunrise/sunset pics next week.
Now where's my sunscreen?

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

I doubt it the tigers need that kind of protection, however....I heard that
the tigers use them so their kittens will have something to follow, but it
is all speculation....Even the tigers themselves probably couldn't tell you
if they could talk......

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

Yes, I have heard that too. The dots give the impression of eyes, as
dragonflies have many predators after him. Especially birds

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

If they are like the white spots on the back of tiger ears, and a few
other spots on a few other animals, they give an impression that some
eyes are watching, and that the potential victim is wary. That's what
I remember hearing, anyway.

They are orange on the one I posted last week.

I don't know the purpose, probably for attracting mates?

They're healing pin marks from the last portrait sitting!

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

I think you're right....The white spots are there for the dragonfly
itself.....

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

What I've always found fascinating about dragonflies is how little they
actually move their wings.
-They seem to fly as nearly "gliders," much of the time...

Re: ANNI TAKES A BREAK !

It makes it easier to get it lined up to the catch wire during landings.
