Sad day in Canonville

Hi all,
Yup, I'm still using Canon FD cameras - too much good
glass to give them up. I brought a Canon T90 to my
grandson's baseball game, had it on the ground under my
chair, and it was hit (lightly) by a rolling foul ball.
The camera became discombubulated and started a constant
.... something like an exposure, but the mirror didn't
move. This would continue as long as I had the battery
pack inserted. I'll have to bring the camera to the
local photo shop and "black bag" it to have the film
removed.
The moral of the story:
If you're at a baseball game, always use protective gear
on your camera, and for personal protection, use a helmet
or full body armor. :-)

I realized long ago those camera straps are there for a reason. Use
them religiously and cameras tend to stay in one piece :)

For what the "repairs" may cost, you could check prices on a used Canon
body at
www.keh.com
and just replace the camera. [Nikon's are a bit more solid....and the
old lens mount still fits on the newer camera bodies.]
