Lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

Hello!
I have a Canon telephoto lens 28:135 with macro and some filters for it and I
would like to use it on my Rolleifles SL35 E. Are there any adaptors for that?

Re: lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

Hi Radu,
The main reason to use the SL35-E in the first place is that it lets you
use Zeiss lenses cheaply.
Also some of the Mamiya made Rolleinars (also sometimes labelled
Vigtländer) made for the Rolleiflexes are quite good.
There is a cheap adaptor which allows you to use M42 (aka Pentax thread)
lenses on the Rolleiflex, with stop-down metering of course.
This allow you to use the many excellent & cheap lenses available in
that mount.

Re: lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

Probably true....But all I'm saying is that if I found a good buy on a brand
x lens, I would probably try to find a good used brand x body to put it on
instead of trying to adapt it to my brand y camera. There are exceptions, of
course, but in general the above is true.....

His answer is not about cutting corners. His point is that even if someone
could make an adapter (which might not be all that hard), the resulting
combination will not focus to infinity.
The end result is that Canon can make adapters for almost every kind of
camera, but the reverse is definitely not true.

In general adapting other manufacturers lenses to your body is a
loser....There are many inexpensive Canons available on the used market that
will take your lens. My advice is to find one and buy it.....

Re: lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

Thank you for the advice. I am just starting into photography and I was
hoppping to save some money but I guess there is no cutting corners when it
comes to serious camera. I apreciate your definite answer.

Re: lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

The lens flange to film plane measurement of the Rollei SL35 mount is
greater than the same measurement for the Canon EF mount, so the
answer is a straight "No".

Re: lens adaptor for my Rolleifles SL35 E

You would be money ahead by getting a lens with a Rolli mount.
An adapter may work but nothing would work as far as 'thru-the-lens'
metering goes. You might get stop down metering.
