Quick questions about Nikkormat EL2

I got an EL2 on ebay. But there are something that puzzle me.
1) The mirror-lockup level doesn't lift the mirror.
2) After manually flipping the mirror, the mirror stays
in the horizontal position and doesn't flip back.
3) shutter release button can't be pressed down when the
wind-lever is pulled away from the camera body. Actually
no matter where the lever angle is, I can't press the
button down.
Forgot to say the camera doesn't have a battery. So do
the functions in 1) to 3) need the battery? I doubt. Then
does it mean it is a defective camera? Thanks.

The rating is ok. total 135 with 2 negatives in the past 12months.
I guess he is just careless or impatient, as I can tell from his
email---usually just one sentense. I've met lots of very nice sellers
---they answered my questions in details.
This time I only asked the info about the lens that is sold
together with the camera, since he said in his listing that
"THIS CAMERA FUNCTIONS ARE WORKING."

Max, I think you are right. The camera needs a CLA.
I put a fresh battery in and nothing changed. :(
Too bad I have to go through ebay or paypal.
The seller said all functions are working...

Something is wrong with the camera. It needs a CLA I think.
A battery will not help. You should complain to the person
which had it for sale on ebay.

Thanks a lot. I just played with the mirror-lockup and after I tried
many times, now it lifts the mirror half way up (still the mirror
doesn't touch foam). Is this normal? I guess it need some lubricant.
For the shutter, even if I put at the 1/125s (the default mechanical
speed) and pulled the wind-lever away from the body, I can neither
wind nor fire the shutter. I'll get a battery and try.

I have jused played with my old EL2 (no battery in it).
The mirror-lockup lift the mirror as it should and it is only
if the wind-lever is pressed in.....you can't press the shutter
and this only if the lock around the lever hides the red dot.
In all other cases I can push the trigger.
But with no battery the camera fires at one manuel speed only.
