You will be assimilated into the Canon collective! Resistance is
futile.
Perhaps you were thinking of this shot?

You can probably see the little wires I had the bird tied up with, but
somehow he managed to work free. Fortunately, I hit him with a few
hundred volts, freezing him to the electric wire before he could fly
away. Whatever works.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go stuff a cat and get a few more
owls out of the basement.

Who cares? Those people who want the best images, that's who.

Re: FLASHERS LOVE THE 20D !

Yes Scott, technology moves forward, and rightly so. But! There is a
place for history. Those processes are valuable and did make imagery
what it is today. Embracing photography is about the "capture". It does
not matter about how. It's the image that matters. The image and what
it says is all that matters. Who really cares about the how. It's the
image. What does it communicate?

Bugger!
I though we had him there. Chaining wild creatures to the tree just so
he could perform torture on them... Oh well. Maybe next time!

Re: FLASHERS LOVE THE 20D !

I WENT BACK TO YOUR WEB-SITE AND THOROUGHLY RE-EXAMINED YOUR FOWL
IMAGES. I HAD PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT I SAW AN IMAGE OF THE BIRD WITH IT'S
RIGHT FOOT CHAINED. I WAS MISTAKEN.I APOLOGIZE FOR MY INDISCRETION. NOW
WHAT IS MY PENANCE GREAT 20D GURU? (no, I won't convert to digital)

Re: FLASHERS LOVE THE 20D !

The only thing restraining that young hawk was the 90-degree heat and
the fear of flying.
I managed to watch his maiden flight just a few days before, which
consisted of him jumping from limb to limb and finally flying down to
another tree.
I can assure you that I didn't climb 50' up that tall pine to nail him
there.
If I want him any closer I'll call him down. After all, hawks love
hamburger.

Re: FLASHERS LOVE THE 20D !

Ok I give up, I don't see which bird is restrained or how. Which image
are you talking about and how is the bird restrained?

Re: FLASHERS LOVE THE 20D !

Sure. I think the photos are very good. But there is a difference from
a shot done in the wild from one done in a zoo. Just as there is a
difference from your images shot in your local aquarium and mine done
in the open ocean. The bird is restrained. My point is, it's easier to
shoot if a subject cannot move, as is the case with your subject. Not
being critical of the image, it's quite good, I actually look forward
to seeing what you have done over a week end. We are both serious
amatures and I do get some ideas and motivation from what you do. My
only fault with your photography is the 20D, it's digital! And that
ain't photography! I've Got to incite your followers somehow. :-)
