Help please!! White Balance

Been away from home for a while with a new Camera (Olympus E-500)
The new big memory card did not come in time so I was having to
conserve what I had, ie use a jpg save.
Somehow I managed to upset the auto white balance and now have the
last day and a half's stuff with a strong blue tint.
Messed about with the levels, curves and balances as I know them to no
avail, just get more crap out than went in (bit like a new born baby
perhaps?)
Can anyone come to the rescue again with another bit of magic for me??
TIA and regards

You make me laugh...
A long time ago, I bought my first machine. It was a lightening fast 486
dx2-66
It had an amazing 32 mb of RAM and boasted an upgrade to the state of the
art the HOT new 1 gig hard drive and a screaming fast 14.4 modem.
I was the fastest girl in town.
It came with Windows 3.11 - oh god how I hated that OS and it hated me.
I learned about computers, because I had to. I was given the nickname "The
queen of delete"
Yo usee, I deleted one of the sound files, and in my search to find it and
restore it I began a journey that took me a long ways.
Not as far as you made it, but you are OBVIOUSLY mch older than I am... WEG.
So.... when I get in a pickle, i'm going to as YOU from now on

Not at all, load of fertilser, if you will pardon the expression.
Each to their own. I sit in this group learning off masters and others
who have trod the ways I am still trying too.
The compter thing came about more by accident that design. I had to
learn modern compting on my own as the company I was working for was
allowing us to be left in in dark days of custom DOS computer
reporting systems, then back heeled me on a promotion interview
because I was not up in the new fangled Windows systems (Win3.11)
I bought an ex-display screwed up 486DX2 which turned out was not
loaded correctly with the operating system. I had a noisy machine and
a blank screen with this silly little C; thing flashing at one side.
Do I junk the £850 or let the engineer kick in and start to learn how
to fix these damn things.
Eventually I found someone who could sort it and teach me, he became a
good friend and I sort of fell into a computer type of circle to
compliment my Masonic one.
Systems came fairly naturally to me since I started off my Engineering
on Ships, especially steam boats, where damn near everything is
systems, but itis handy if you can keep a hole down the middle of the
cables :-)
Really until now, although I do the web sites, I still have not had
time to really learn how to 'do' pictures. Just take enough and
eventually the monkey will produce a good one, with a bit of
lightening, darkening and sharpening along the way.
So please put the pie away and continue to help lead the bat eyed one
along the fragrant path between the red roses and blue lavender.

It's obvious to me that you clearly know NOTHING about computin machines,
which is why I felt compelled to give you instruction.
Now, if you will excuse me, I believe there is a huge piece of humble pie
and a cup of coffee waiting for me in the kitchen.
Gawd.... sorry, I had on idea, seriously..
I was trying to be helpful in my own bumbling way. I hope that you don't
think I was treating you liek an idiot, it wasn't my intention.
Love the mental image of you wandering the beach with your little camera,
all James Bondish snapping - ummm - seashells - yea, I bet THAT was it!

Quite, looking at the prices for the big name ones.
Even for this 'ADATA' one
Could not believe it when my 'silly' little bid slipped through.
But hey, that's how I get things, patience, looking for misplaced ads
and severely limited late bids.

snip
That's exactly what I do. I have a portable to drop them onto when I
am away from home and direct onto the main workstation at home. That
is a TB+ AMD3.2 64bit thing. Bit of a monster now with all the drives.
I then have a more or less redundant Novell 6 server in the corner and
3 more workstations in the office. Downstairs there is yet another
one.
I ended up with them to keep various Grandkids off the main machine
and as test houses for bits from machines I am fixing for friends,
family and such like.
Also because, like what do you do with good quality machines when you
build another one...
These are on a wired network
So what happens is that I have an ever increasing mass of picture
folders on copied onto the 'D' and 'L' drives, which occasionally get
copied onto other machines when they are up and idle.
OK I'll put my hands up, I started as a computer nerd years ago for
several very good reasons, after finding out that they had moved on
from the punch cards and tapes that I was very basically taught on for
CNC machines at collage.
I was a typical family snapper with a little Halina Paulette and my
Father's Zenit E, after he died.
Then all things changed on a holiday in Tenerife. Beach wear tends to
be a bit different there than stateside...
I saw my first ever 'D' Camera. A bit of junk from Cassio. But what it
had was a little screen at the back and the lens was on a swivel head
at the side. Pure magic or so it seemed at the time. I could wander
about on the beach filling up the camera and everyone would think that
I was playing a computer game.
Almost fooled the missus as well!!
From there it was a small step to doing may first web site using
pictures taken on top of America House looking down on the Tower of
London, thinking that the Tourists down there would give their eye
teeth to be where I was. unseenlondon was born.
