Re: Creating seamless texture problem in photoshop and maya tia sal2 ... I doubt that your renderer can handle textures with complex borders. So your texture should be a perfect rectangle, with no gray triangles around the edges. This requires a big of jig-saw work along the vertical and horizontal edges. The following directions should get you started. Use the offset filter in wrap around mode. Dup your image to a new layer, select everything except the right halves of the right row of cells, and press the delete key. Then use Filter>Other>Offset to offset the new layer by half a cell horizontally, specifying wrap around mode. Then delete the gray areas along the left margin using the magic want tool with Contiguous unchecked. Repeat this in the vertical direction, crop the whole thing to a rectangle, and you should have a texture that wraps cleanly around a toroid. Almost, that is. The magic wand tool is well known for leaving bits of schmutz behind. You'll need to do some individual pixel cleanup here and there. -- Mike Russell www.curvemeister.com/forum/ Mike Russell
