Rotating excel spreadsheet for use in photoshop/ using diamond cells tia
sal2
Greetings, All
I'm trying to get the basic spreadsheet that has square cells that looks
like this
http://www.onewithall.net/rodin/excel_squares.jpg
to look like this with diamond cells that looks like this
http://www.onewithall.net/rodin/excel_diamonds.jpg
Can Excel do this?
I know I can type them in manually in photoshop but I need to input 100's
of numbers. If excel can't do this can someone recommend another program
or suggests a better way of doing it if they have one.
Thanks
sal2
PS: What I'm trying to do.
I'm trying import an image of excel numbers (which will be 100s)
into Photoshop to map an object.

Here’s one way.
First make all the Excel cells the size you want.
Then fill in the cell values and formulas.
Use
Format > Cells > Alignment
to put the contents in the center of each cell.
Then use
Insert > Picture > Autoshapes > Basic shapes
to place a diamond on top of the first cell.
Right-click on the diamond and use
Format autoshape > colors and lines
and make it 100% transparent.
Copy the autoshape and paste it all over the sheet. After you get going,
you can select a lot of them at a time and paste several rows at once.

I left out format cells' vertical and horizontal alignments to center.

Hi,
1.Make the cells square, and change their fill to white.
2.In row 1 format the even cells' (columns 2,4,6...) borders to the two
diagonals only.
3.In row 2 format the odd cells' (columns 1,3,5...) borders to the two
diagonals only.
4.Use the format painter to copy this format down the sheet.
5.Enter your numbers into the cells without the diagonal borders, which
is every second cell.

Hello sal2,
Try this one:-
Using a grid in Excel 6 columns wide by 6 rows deep, format each cell,
borders / and as appropriate until you have a diamond shape. Highlight
the middle 8 cells (the ones with no crosshatching) and merge and centre (er
if you prefer). Format alignment, vertical and horizontal, central, and
insert your number. Adjust column width, row height and font size until you
have the correct size and shape of diamond, then copy to repeat the diamond
shapes to as many as you want. Hope this helps.
Geoff.
