Photoshop key shortcuts

Hey there.
I just had a quick easy question.
In Photoshop.. I selected the type tool, and someone told me that there
was a shortcut to make an arrow symbol.. something like "ctrl 125"
etc.. but I forgot the combination..
does anyone know??

And while he's at it he can drag the shortcut for Character Map into his
Task Bar so he'll have it handy whenever it's needed.

You may find this a useful tip??
In Windows click on start > run and type
charmap
click on OK and every symbol every font etc is there to hand!
saves sodding about with huge lists!
