L bracket options?

I'm interested in getting an L bracket for my Canon 10D. I've seen the
one from Really Right Stuff, and another maker whose names escapes me
at the moment, but I have two concerns...
The first is price... it's not like these are precision Space Shuttle
instruments, though they're priced that way. Then again, lens hoods
are just pieces of plastic... It's photography... we're suckers.
The second is that one that I've found seem to onlt work with a
particular brand if tripod head (Arca-Swiss?) and I have Manfrotto. I
like my 3265 grip head and have enough invested already that I don't
want to do it all over again.
Are there other manufacturers for these things? If so, they're hiding
from me.

Oops, never mind...

Just worked out that you meant what you said, "L bracket," nothing else...

Re: L bracket options?

Are you talking about a flash bracket? Then I'd say take a look at
Stroboframe. At $100, they ain't cheap, but far less expensive than RRS. I
use the Pro-T, which pivots the correct direction for use with the grip on
my 20D and 5D. The "FlipFrame" goes the wrong direction.

Kirk makes a bunch too: http://kirkphoto.com/lbrackets.html
They are machined aluminum, and fairly precisely made, and there's the
whole economy of not-very-large scale going on, etc.
They work with the Arca-style QR clamp system, used by Arca, Foba,
Acratech, Kirk and probably a few others I can't remember.
There are QR adaptors to "Arca-fy" your tripod head, such as

*scratching chin and thinking* That idea has possibilities.

Re: L bracket options?

That one looks pretty good, only I have the rectangular plate (don't
remember the model number offhand). But, from what I can tell in the
photo, I'm not sure why which kind of plate matters. Unless I'm
missing something, it looks like it'd be flush with the plate, so it
should work with any plate.
Thanks for the links.

Probably not a whole lot cheaper to get it to fit your head - this
was the only one, to my knowledge, that Bogen ever made.
You might get a machine shop to make one to your specs - there's
really not much to them. Take a release plate from your current head and
remember that the holes are tapped 1/4-20.
